I often find it’s easiest to talk about whatever my kids are doing that is difficult. Misery loves company, and we all like to have some company when we’re over tired from sleepless nights, or feel like our relationships are stressed from lack of seeing each other. But sometimes the kids come out with some funny things, that I have been so lax on writing down. I’ll share them. Most of these are repeats if you see me in person pretty regularly, or maybe you were there…but this is for mostly for me!
Recently I was driving with Danny in the car (if you know us, this is not typical). I maneuvered the car in such a way that Danny was convinced I was going to ditch…so he said “OH MY GOD, are you CRAZY!!” To which I laughed…to which Annie laughed and said “Mommy!!! You’re a crazy driver!!!” Incidentally, I’m also listening to a song frequently in the car that the lyrics of the chorus are…”Let’s just get crazy” Of course, every time Annie hears it she says….”Mommy’s a crazy driver”
Charlotte, as she’s learning to talk. When we say bye bye…it’s bye bye Daddy, or Annie, or the dog Ginny…but the cat Sherman…he’s “Baby” Ask her to say “Sherman” and she’ll say “Baby”
The other morning, Annie was describing to me this “Wish” that she had. She went on and on and on, of a tale that made zero sense. So I ask her where she had this “Wish” and she said she was in her bed.
We have this marvelous friend Kerry, who whenever we see her, will spend lot’s and lot’s of time (Thanks, Kerry) reading with Annie. They like to read the Eloise books. Recently, Annie was insistent upon pouring water out of her bathtub. So I say “Annie…why are you pouring water out of the tub??” Her response, “To be just like Eloise” Well, I can’t blame her there…Eloise is pretty awesome.
Annie said something totally ludicrous to me, and I said to her “Whatchyou talkin’ bout Willis” , and very certainly she said back “My not Willis”
Charlotte is adding to her vocab daily. She’s very good about saying thank you, which sounds like “tant too”, she thinks that tattoos are sticker, and will point to the tattoo on my back and say “sticker” , and just like Annie did, she will get me my coffee cup, and say “Mommy, Foffee!!”
These are just a teeny bit of the wonderful little things my girls do and say.
And now, some pictures to show you how cute they are too!
And yes, they are huge pictures. I’m too tired from all that lack of sleep to do anything about that right now. xoxo
