We are still waiting on Charlotte to crawl, and at this point I think we’re looking for more of a scoot anyway. She sits up just fine, and she’s very sturdy – only falling over when pushed. She has figured out that she doesn’t really need to move, since everyone will just bring her whatever she needs. So, we wait.
She’s been eating a bunch more solids recently. I think I got really lucky, and have been blessed with two very good eaters. Charlotte’s favorites are bananas and prunes (the two must go together because the bananas are the cause to a problem the prunes help to solve) She hasn’t been a fan of us feeding her, she only wants to do it herself. So we just put small bits of food in front of her and she mashes it up with her gums.
It seems like she is also getting some more teeth. She was very restless last night, tossing and turning, and usually in my experience that leads to either teeth or the stomach flu, and we aren’t having any flu symptoms…so I’ll be trying to get a good look in her mouth today to see if there’s any progress.
My favorite new development is her babbling. She was just doing a little high pitched squeal for happy noise making, but now she’s added in some da-da-daing, and some ga-ga-gaing. Once in a while there’s a mah mah in there too, but for the most part just the da-da. I love it…but I’m also sad in her growing out of being my teeny baby. Fortunately she loves to snuggle with me, so that makes up for it.
