Annie has discovered this joke…well she’s discovered half of it anyway. She love to knock on something saying “knock, knock”, we answer the obligatory “who’s there?” “Annie” “Annie Who?” Then she says “Annie’s knocking on the door” and cracks into a puddle of laughs. It’s pretty funny.
Annie is in general just a funny little girl. Recently, she wasn’t feeling all that well, and so I was letting her nurse during the day, she unlatched for a second, and looked at my boob…looked up at me with wide eyes and said “Mommy…der’s milk in your baba!” Just as though she had no idea this whole time that there was milk in there.
Winter has been a little boring around here. I’m not much of an outdoors person when it’s cold, shame on me, so we stay inside most of the time. Considering how much of a struggle it is to get Annie to even put pants on sometimes, the option of just staying home with naked toddler just wins out. Annie’s imagination, combined with some help from Dora the Explorer, has resulted in us building hundreds of “tents” to hide out from the “rain”, and hundreds of occasions that required Annie to use a “rope” to pull us out of a bad situation. We eat a lot of imaginary pie, and cookies. We go shopping in different locations all over the house, we paint, we cut paper (a new favorite) Play with play doh.
We have built two snowmen this winter, but other than that haven’t spent a whole lot of time outside. It has been a very very cold winter. Needless to say I am very excited for Spring to begin. Today it is raining, and I’m thrilled to have all the nice warm rain turn our sheet of ice driveway into a mud puddle. The rest of today I think will be spent planning our garden, getting our minds into a warmer place!
