Annie, like her dad, is a creature of habit. She likes doing the very same thing every single morning, and it musn’t vary. She used to sleep in, til about 9 am every morning, and that was perfect for our schedule. Sometime this past winter, so between 15-18 months, she just started waking earlier and earlier. On our trip to Arizona for my cousin Alden’s wedding in March, the time change compounded with daylight savings time change somehow completely screwed up Annie’s sense of time to wake, and suddenly she was waking up at 5 am…not fun for Danny and I.
Shortly before Charlotte arrived we finally got it down to a science for the most part, and Annie will usually wake up around 7 am and be cranky for a little while. I am still nursing her along with the new baby, so I’ll nurse her for a little while, nurse Charlie, then either Danny or I will get up with Annie and head downstairs. She always has a snack, most always fruit, and then she wants to watch her morning shows. I was really not in favor of her watching a lot of t.v., and then during her 5-6 am wake time season we started turning it on in the morning since mom and dad were certainly far from awake. So now, we watch t.v. in the morning. Yup, I’m one of “those” moms. My child is seemingly bright as can be with this television watching that experts now say should land your child in remedial learning or something.
